Lauryn's 10th birthday party

For my daughter Lauryn's 10th birthday I set up a photo shoot for her and her girlfriends. I've known most of these girls since they were itty bitty 3 year olds in pre-school and now look at them. WOW!!! I just can't believe how they are all getting so grown up so fast! Where has the time gone????? Lauryn loves her friends very much, of all my children she seems to be the one who identifies the most with her peer group.(She once chose to stay home from a trip to West Ed Mall to go to Miz Meagan's for a sleepover birthday party) I understand how she feels, my girlfriends are just as important to me and I think of them more like family. I love the confidence and self assurance these girls all possess!!! I think that was what was the most fun for me anyways, seeing how all these little girls are developing into amazing young ladies. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the next 7 years brings for all of these beautiful girls!!! Thanks girls, keep shaking what your mamas gave you!!:) Also I just wanted to mention that I couldn't have done this without my friend Terilee who volunteered to help.(She basically ran the party while I did pictures) I have a knack for coming up with ideas but not always factoring in the time management thing.LOL. If it wasn't for Terilee, I would most likely be in a corner somewhere rocking myself back and forth.LOL. Thanks Terilee!!!

Heidi, Matt and Olivia

I was really happy to spend some time photographing this family, just before the weather turned for the worse. (Yuck...snow ) Heidi is Very pretty as you can see, Olivia is adorable and Matt is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet (I have a huge amount of respect for him as he's one fantastic teacher at my children's school), so it was a pleasure for me!! If there is one thing I have learnt over the years with my photography, is that every family has their own unique chemistry and level of energy. Some families are gentle and quiet, some are super funny and love to joke around, some are closer to mom or dad or you can tell have a special bond with a sister or brother etc. The one thing that honestly has me hooked and the reason why I do it over and over again is capturing on film how much they all love each other!! It's more a feeling than anything...... I love a quote I once read by a little boy who was asked to describe what "LOVE" is and his reply was, "It's Christmas morning when everyone is opening their presents and if you stop and listen.... you can just hear it". That's exactly how I feel about doing family pictures...you can just feel it and it's contagious and ....That I will never tire of!!! When I look at Heidi and Matt and their beautiful little girl this is exactly what I see....A family that truly adores each other.....it just makes me smile:)

Amanda and Justin Dieno

Justin and Amanda were married on August 8, 2009 in Wynyard, SK.(a day before my 12th wedding anniversay) It was a REALLY hot day, one of the few this summer. Amanda was a beautiful bride and their wedding was lovely. They are a great couple, it's so completely obvious that they belong together. I enjoyed being a part of their special day very much and wish them the very best for their future.

The Davies, Martas and Potts families

This was one of my all time favorite families to photograph!!! They are so much fun to be around, lots of laughter and a really great group to work with!! I did Carl and Kelly's wedding pictures a few years ago and was so happy to meet their baby girl Carys. I also worked for Tracy many moons ago when she managed the Wellington Dining room. She was a fantastic manager and I loved working for her. I can't believe how grown up her girls are and how incredibly pretty they are!!!!! Wow Delvin, you've got your work cut out for you keeping track of all the boys that I'm sure will be knocking at the door!!! Thanks for asking me to take pictures Tracy, I had such a great time!! Your family gave me a timely reminder of why I love doing this so much, Thank you!!
